1793 - Micajah Thomas to James Woodard



This Indenture made this thitieth day of July in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty four by and between Micajah Thomas of Nash County and state of North Carolina of the one part and James Woodard of the county and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Micajah Thomas for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred Pounds to him in hand paid by the said James Woodard at & before the Ensealing & Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Micajah Thomas do hereby acknowledge hath grant Bargained & sold and doth by these presents Grant bargain & sell make over and confirm unto said James Woodard his heirs and assigns for Ever one certain tract or Parcel of Land lying on the North side of Pigbasket Creek containing two hundred & Eighty nine acres more or less Being part of a tract of Land Granted to Micajah Thomas by the Earl of Granville the deed beares date one thousnad Seven hundred an sixty and bounded as followeth Begining at a red oak on the north Side of Pigbasket Creekthence Est 327 Pol to a pine then south 120 Pol then So 65 Wst 75 Pol to a white oake near Hollands Branch --in containing the same courses 200 Pol to a hicory on the creek then up the creek to the first station Together with all woods Timbers and Timber trees wood & under woods Water and Water courses within or Too the said premises belonging with the reversion & reversions remainder & remainders and all the Estate right title & Interest Claim & Demand whatsoever of him the Sd Micajah Thomas his heirs & of in and --the sd Lands & premises & off in and to every Part & parcel thereof To have and To hold the said tract of Land and premises above mention with the appertainances there unto belonging unto the said James Woodard his heirs and assigns and to the only Proper use and behalf of him the said James Woodard his heirs and assigns for ever the aforesaid Lands & premises and all and Singular the appertenances thereunto Belonging unto the said James Woodard his heirs & assigns forever and shall well and trully warrant and Defend the afore sd. Land and Premises against him the said Micajah Thomas His Heirs and against all and Every Person & persons whatsoever claiming by ------ or under him them or any of them their heirs or assigns in Witness wherof the said Micajah Thomas have here unto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date first above written
